About Me

Hi, I’m Caitlin. I love to write. Specifically, I love to connect with audiences through writing. I came up in traditional journalism and have written for major newspapers on topics ranging from dirty grill contests, to wind turbines, to gun control laws. When I am not crushing inverted-pyramid style, I help businesses and nonprofits tell their stories as a copywriter and content editor/creator. I also write longer form think-pieces about television and film.

In a not-so-distant past life, I taught writing as an adjunct instructor at Columbia University, where I also received my MFA.

I am a nimble writer, able to match a wide range of tones and conventions. The common denominator throughout my work: a paramount focus on the reader. I live for a good hook and shudder at the thought of a reader feeling bored or confused. My direct, conversational approach; ability to distill complicated concepts; and ruthless editorial eye keeps my audience with me.

Take a look at the clips on this site to get a sense of my range and pithy openers. Interested in working together? Please reach out! I’d love to help you meet your communication goals—whether that’s garnering readers, clicks, dollars, or donations.
